6 x Prosecco Asolo Manor ' Figlio della Roccia' DOCG
An Albertine UK exclusive. This is one of the nicest prosecco we have ever tasted. Miles away from the pear-juice you have been given at the pub. This is an elegant extra dry prosecco which delivers elegance and bags of fun.
Pair with a bit of hand-sliced soppressata (like we did when we went to see these guys last winter), a bit of Asiago or Taleggio cheese (from the majestic mountains that surround the domaine) and you are set-up for an italian-style aperitivo.
The Asolo hills are between 200 and 300 meters high and the vineyards are well-exposed southside with excellent ventilation.
The terroir is rocky and calcareous and because of that, the steepness and adding the low percentage of clay, water percolate down easily.
From there vine roots deep down significantly to give the wine punchy aromas and decisive sapidity.
The climate is temperate, with optimal daily thermal excursions, hot summers (although not muggy) and cold winters. Harvesting is completely hand made.
The wine bouquet has an immediate floral characteristic of hawthorn, wisteria, white rose, pear and acacia flowers accompanied by fruity components of green apple, pear and peach.
This prosecco also emanates a lasting minerality throughout while ending with a spiciness of thyme; an addition to the overall complexity.
The taste is dry, crisp, pleasant and refreshing. Acidity and sweetness are well balanced. The mineral component significantly improves the structure, making it harmonious, savoury and highly persistent. The pleasing after-taste deriving from the fruity components with hints of citrus slowly and enjoyably expands into an elegant and refined sensory pleasure.
